True Blue Maids Lynette and her Husband, Jerry gather their children together every Sunday night for a family dinner, often barbequing in their backyard. For most families, the dinner conversation revolves around sports, school, and weekend events. For them, talk inevitably turns to cleaning. Lynette opened True Blue Maids cleaning service this past January, after working for private companies for 15 years. She put her adult children and Husband on staff. “We are truly a family business,” says Lynette. We get to see the kids every day. I feel like I am giving them something by (teaching them) firsthand how to deal with customer service. Their day often starts at 6 a.m. when they discuss the cleaning schedule over coffee. Noting which houses have pets or new babies or need move-out proof pictures. The company focuses on residential cleaning only and Lynette points out that not only do they give each house individual attention, they pride themselves on extreme cleaning. “ I was always hearing, “they were just feather dusting,” she says. “We don’t own a feather duster. Usually maid service won’t clean the inside of ovens and we think that’s ridiculous. Another driving force behind this family business is their green outlook. True Blue Maids emphasizes eco-friendly products, like Mrs. Myers cleaning supplies, and good old-fashioned elbow grease. Lynette spends a great deal of time trying out new products to pass on to her customers, following the guideline that if it’s safe for her family, its safe for her clients. “I’m constantly testing eco-friendly products before I bring them into my client’s home.” she says, noting that this green option is popular among moms-to-be and pet-owners. Lynette and Jerry bought their home here six years ago.
